Gika Apartament-Luanda

Project: With the collaboration of Dhárius – management and construction projects

 

The apartment is located on the top two floors of the Apartment building over the new Comandante Gika Shopping Mall in Luanda. The existing four 4 bedroom apartments will be joined into one apartment that will include the private terrace of the building, including a total of 940 sq.m and a 427 sq.m terrace.

Camama Housing-Luanda

The residential area of Camama is in Angola, 20km south of Luanda. Camama is a growing area of the capital.

This project is the study for one of the building plots and it includes two residential buildings, landing on a basement which contains the parking area, lobby, gym and leisure areas.

The rooftop of this basement has public and private gardens, a swimming pool and solarium. As it is higher than the street level, this is a very quiet and private area.

The defragmented design of the residential buildings reduces their impact on the landscape, and the balconies help to shade, reducing solar exposition.

The interior design spacious and functional is set to a contemporary living.

Moradia Alcântara

A construção original data do século XIX, apresentando à data um elevado estado de degradação e abandono. O telhado há muito que deixa entrar água para o interior o que levou a que no alçado sul, a parede exterior de cantaria aparelhada apresente um avançado estado de ruina, ao contrário das restantes paredes exteriores, que apesar de degradadas estão em condições de serem reabilitadas.

A proposta de Arquitectura irá reabilitar e ampliar o edifício existente, adicionando-lhe um piso, o qual irá manter a traça típica do Bairro. Em contraste com a fachada principal e lateral de carácter tradicional em linha com a imagem do Bairro, a fachada tardoz terá um carácter contemporâneo e minimal. Para quebrar a leitura de uma fachada de três pisos, optou-se por desfragmentar a mesma, tanto em termos de acabamentos, como de volumes nos diferentes pisos. O piso inferior será marcado pelos vãos rasgados da sala e cozinha e a forra de madeira que se estende para as paredes laterais do logradouro; o piso 0 terá um volume saliente branco, com um rasgo horizontal correspondente à varanda do escritório e zona de tratamento de roupa, com prumos verticais e paredes em prumos de madeira; o piso dos quartos será revestido a zinco com 6 vãos de leitura vertical.

Moncada Apartament-Luanda

The apartment is located in the Moncada Prestige building in the Center of Luanda. The existing apartment has 4 bedrooms which will be converted into 3 bedrooms to increase the existing spaces and give them better finishes and confort.

Murtal House-Cascais

Located in a consolidated residential area, the lot is confined between other lots, already occupied with singular houses, and a vacant lot to the south.

Although empty the plot does not show a pronounced topography, only a few rocky outcrops, with much degraded rocks, precluding their use.

The project is based on the program required by the client. A house for four people, with a dependency for guests, with independent access to the dwelling itself. The building has two floors above the ground for housing and a floor below ground for garage and storage.

With a simple and clear morphology, the building is a single volume whose voids announce the entrance to the house. Given the existing walls that present a significant height, there was a need to open up the ground floor in contrast to the “enclosure” that might arise with the construction. This way the building is crossed by two horizontal axes (north-south) and (east-west) at the ground floor allowing the creation of visual axes that cross the building and announce what lies beyond it.

Camarão House-Sintra

The option for a Wood House came from the client for it’s apearance and thermal confort and for the environmental susteinability of this type of construction.

The shape of the plot and it’s high slope facing south conditioned the project.

The project decided to locate the building on the higher part of the plot to take advantage of the orientation and the surrounding spaces. The House has a L shape that creates na outside balcony where one can contemplate the surrounding landscape to the south.

Moradia Beloura

A moradia existente de tipologia V3 foi construída originalmente em 2003 e recebeu uma ampliação de dois novos quartos no piso 1 superior em 2013. 

O projecto de renovação da casa realizado em 2016, ampliou novamente a casa ao nível do piso 1 ocupando o terraço da suite principal, com cerca de 40m2. Esta área recebeu o novo WC da suíte, libertando área para os dois closet da suite, que passou a ter 75 m2 de área útil. 

No piso 0 a compartimentação interior manteve-se tendo sido melhorada a relação entre a cozinha e a sala de jantar com uma porta de correr dupla que deu à casa uma maior fluidez e interligação entre espaços. A relação com o exterior foi também melhorada com um grande envidraçado de correr duplo na sala de jantar que interliga mais o interior com o deck da nova piscina. 

O hall de entrada passou a ter um pé direito duplo que dá escala à casa e uma maior relação visual entre os pisos, para o que contribui a porta de entrada pivotante de dimensões generosas 1.25x2.20m. 

O exterior da moradia foi renovado tendo o tijolo burro de cor castanha dado lugar a um revestimento em xisto preto de grandes dimensões que marca os volumes da moradia. No jardim a principal alteração foi a construção da nova piscina de 12x5m com uma cascata no eixo visual da entrada surgindo como pano de fundo ao entrar na moradia. O patamar do antigo Pomar foi interligado ao patamar da piscina por uma escadaria, tornando-o um espaço com mais vivência, o que permitiu criar uma zona de grelhados e refeições no exterior.

Dário Silva Villa-Luanda

The project of the House was designed inside out, being the indoor garden the link between the interior spaces, introducing a green element adn natural light on the interior through the double height ceiling.

The Hall is also a central point of the House with it’s double height and the stairs. This space connects the social spaces of the ground floor and the private spaces of the upper floor. The volume of the rooms overlooking the pool are set on top of the living and dining room, which is one of the features of the House.

The outdoor spaces include a pool and jacuzzi. The building on the back of the plot supports the outsider areas.

Housing block-Constância

Inserted on a Housing Development on the north of Constância, the plot is located on a corner that makes the transition between the villas and the plots of apartments.

The slope of the terrain will be used to fit the building so that it has a look of having two floors on the façade looking to the villas and the four floors on the opposite façade, being the ground floor the parking and the remaining three floors apartments. There will be 10 apartments ranging from one bedroom to 3 bedrooms.

Miguel Antunes House-Cape Verde

The building plot is located in Praia Town, Cape Verde. It has a rectangular shape and a small area of 10x20m, which was a challenge due to the programmatic arrangement, determined by the client.

The social areas, living room, dining room and kitchen are located on the ground floor. Outside there is a small garden and a parking space.

On the upper level there are the private areas of the house: two bedrooms and one suite with closet.

There is also a swimming pool on the roof with a magnificent ocean view, and a barbecue area.

This is a contemporary house, with large windows, for maximum natural light on the interior.
